A design of pure lines, with clean and functional finishes
About the Project
For this project, an open area that was used as laundry room is added to the kitchen. Therefore, we go from a 10.20 m² kitchen to a totally open-plan kitchen including a separate pantry of 2.10 m², a kitchen of 18.30 m² and a laundry room with ironing room of 5.00 m². A full use of the space and the light. The use of the space, the symmetry and the meeting point have been the aims that guided the renovation of this kitchen. The kitchen is divided into two areas: a clearly differentiated area of pillars with the sink, and the island area with the extractor hood. A design of pure lines, with clean and functional finishes. A choice of white lacquered finish, combined with the worktop material as well as the backsplash in white Zeus Silestone, which creates a feeling of spaciousness and brightness.
The main element of the room, the central island, a compact volume that includes the cooking area and the bar with an annexed. Over the island, the FRECAN hood built in the ceiling, also in white, fully integrates into the atmosphere; over the table two FOSCARINI Aplomb light fittings hang. Around the island, we find the pillar area which includes the water area and a large passage window connecting the kitchen with the exterior and providing natural light. The entrance to the kitchen also intends to provide a feeling of full openness, by creating fix and sliding transparent glass doors framed in white lacquered MDF.
A feature of this whole space is the access to the kitchen; a framed fix and sliding transparent glass door has been designed to give the feeling of open spaces. The pantry is integrated in the panelled wall, with a hidden access. For the laundry room, we have used high pressure laminate furniture with 4 edges, steel-coloured integrated handles and white Zeus worktop.
